Our 299X32 4 Piston Front Brake System | Competition is designed for customers who want a more period correct looking caliper that fits under smaller diameter wheels while still maintaining a high level of performance. This system uses AP Racing 4 piston calipers and 299X32 60 vane J-hook friction discs. If you have any questions or need any help with assembling your system please get in touch.

Additional Information

  • Assembled 299X32mm 60 vane rotor weighs 12.5lbs vs 12.8lbs for the OEM E28 535i 282X25mm rotor and 19lbs for the OEM M5 300X30mm rotor. Saving .5-13lbs in un-sprung and rotating mass on the front axle depending on model

  • Disc metallurgy specifically designed to handle competition duty for long term durability. Mounting hats manufactured from 6061 aluminum and hard anodized to MIL-A-8625 Type III in gray with a laser etched Ass to show proper rotation direction

  • Caliper and mounting bracket weigh in at 5.5lbs per corner vs 10lbs for the OEM E28 535i sliding caliper and 11lbs for the OEM E28 M5 fixed 4 piston caliper. Saving 9-11lbs of un-sprung mass on the front axle depending on your model

  • Caliper and all aluminum hardware is hard anodized to handle elevated temps. Paint and powder coating don’t handle the extremes of competition

  • Piston sizes specifically chosen to closely mimic the OEM brake torque. By doing this our front systems can be bolted up with no negative effects to the OEM ABS system and your vehicles stock master cylinder can remain, as can the OEM rear brake system

  • Ventilated and domed back stainless steel pistons to keep heat out of your brake fluid and ensure a stiff pedal

  • 4lb Anti-knockback springs on pistons

  • Integrated bleed screw and crossover protection. Prevents accidental damage to your caliper plumbing when removing wheels or from random track debris

  • Single bolt pad change using commonly available pad shape, 20 mm thick. No need to remove caliper to change pads

  • High temperature, low drag piston seals designed to handle track duty

  • No dust boots - no risk of melting

  • Cost effective lifetime professional caliper rebuild service available through our partner, Essex Parts. Pull them off and send them in for a full cleaning and reconditioning

  • OEM BMW hardware for mounting caliper mounting bracket to hub

  • Front stainless steel brake lines manufactured by Spiegler to Angry Ass specifications in the USA with banjo bolts and crush rings

  • Left and right AP Racing 299X32mm 60 vane friction discs assembled on 6061 aluminum mounting hats. Friction discs made in UK and mounting hats made in USA

  • OEM BMW rotor retaining screws

  • Loctite 271

  • We highly recommend using AP Racing Radi-Cal Brake Fluids, Ferodo pads and having your pads bedded in so your rotors are ready to use

  • If interested in a bit less NVH from the pads moving we recommend the pad tension clips
