Angry Ass | M88/3 + S38B35 Thermostat Assembly
The M88/3 and S38B35 are the hearts of the E24 M635CSi, M6 and E28 M5. Unfortunately with examples reaching 40+ years old certain components are failing and OEM supplies are running dry.
Due to galvanic corrosion and physical abuse the housings fail through a lack of sealing and broken hose necks. To remedy this we studied the OEM design and improved where we could, all while maintaining a period correct look.
We pour A356.2 aluminum castings here in the USA which are then heat treated to T6. Once the raw castings are finished we ship to Stim.Tech who post machines the housings to specification in Canada. We then vapor hone the housing to provide a satin finish before assembling with OEM hardware and a 80C thermostat.
The end product is a drop in replacement for your M88/3 or S38B35 which is more durable and produced from start to finish in North America with OE hardware.
