Core4 | Floating Collar Lug Nuts
While Core4 didn’t reinvent the wheel, they certainly took a shot at the lug nut for BMW applications. Not satisfied with other options, the guys at Core4 developed a floating seat lug nut that eliminates galling and reduces the friction that exists at the conical seat between the lug nut and wheel. By allowing the seat of the lug nut to "float", the torque is directly transmitted to the stud and isn't wasted on friction energy at the lug nut to wheel interface. This provides proper stud tension without the need for lubrication.
If you’re still reading this, then you’ll appreciate that the Core4 design also reduces static bending strain on the studs. This strain stems from manufacturing tolerance stack-up in the wheel hub and tapered nut seats of the wheel. If the tapered seats of the wheel aren't perfectly concentric and aligned with the wheel stud/bolt circle, one or more studs are always subjected to a static bending strain once tightened. This is a significant reason why heavy vehicles with a higher bolt/stud count and larger bolt circles do not use tapered seat wheels.
Priced individually to allow you to replace lost units as needed.
ATTENTION: For racing, competition, or other off-road use only!
