We’re happy to work with Essex Parts to bring Ferodo Racing pads to the early BMW community! Based in Modovi, Italy Ferodo is a leading manufacturer of brake pads for many of the worlds OEMs and is used by many top teams in motorsport.
Direct fitment for the popular 4 piston Brembo caliper found on the E31 840Ci. If using prior mentioned models brakes on a E24, E28, E32 or E34 these will of course work as well.
We highly recommend DS2500 for a dual purpose aggressive street and light track pad. When using DS2500 as a dual use compound its possible to swap to a more aggressive compound without re-bedding.

Additional Information
DS2500 - DS2500 is amongst the foremost high performance track day pads in the business. It is also suitable for some light duty front and many rear pure race applications. It offers excellent refinement for such a high performance pad. The main characteristics of DS2500 are:
Track day & light race use for all vehicle types
Road style refinement but with race material ability to withstand heat with respect to life and µ
Average friction coefficient of 0.42 over working temperature range of 20°-500°C
Essex Recommendation - While its best to always run a dedicated pad for the track, DS2500 is one of the best hybrid street/track pads on the market. It features the moderately high bite and solid fade resistance of a track pad, with the relatively low dust and noise levels of a street pad. When used as a street pad, it can produce some squeal on certain platforms. During aggressive driving the DS2500 is known for its flat torque curve, which means as temperatures go up, the response through the brake pedal remains consistent. If you drive aggressively on the street, do some canyon runs, autocross, and maybe some light track duty on street tires, the DS2500 is tough to beat.
ATTENTION: When used on high HP, heavier cars (2,800 lbs+) on the track with race tires, pad wear rates tend to be higher than on Ferodo Racing's other pad compounds. Under those conditions, its recommended to run DS1.11
DSUNO - DSUNO is the latest heavy duty racing material from Ferodo Racing. It has replaced DS2.11 and is already race proven in GT, touring car, Formula & rally. The technical objective for the material was to provide a high friction output, whilst improving pad and disc life and to offer excellent modulability throughout the brake event. The latter means the risk of wheel lock is significantly reduced compared to other pads with the same high nominal friction coefficient, without any loss of output. This is the ultimate feel-good pad.

Essex Recommendation - “Ferodo Racing has made great strides in pad development over the past few years, and DSUNO is their latest offering. For our customers who enjoy the performance of the DS1.11, but just want a little more bite, we recommend the DSUNO. It doesn't wear quite as long as the DS1.11, but it does offer a higher overall mu once it reaches track temperatures.”
DS3000 - DS3000 is the FERODO RACING compound that has set the braking standard from 1998. It has contributed to countless wins and podium positions in many Touring car, rally & GT championships around the world. The main characteristics of DS3000 are:

Multiple applications including touring car, rally, Group N, single seat, hill-climb
Average friction coefficient 0.48 over working temperature range of 200°-650°C
Essex Recommendation - The predecessor to DS1.11, DS3000 offers high initial bite with excellent feel and release. Popular among rally teams, DS3000 has a relatively low cold temperature threshold while still offering high temp stability for tarmac. DS3000 is very easy on discs at the expense of pad wear.
