Ferodo Racing | Front Brake Pads FCP4611H

from $291.56

We’re happy to work with Essex Parts to bring Ferodo Racing pads to the early BMW community! Based in Modovi, Italy Ferodo is a leading manufacturer of brake pads for many of the worlds OEMs and is used by many top teams in motorsport.

Direct fitment for Angry Ass 340X30 4 Piston Front Brake System | Road, F80 M3 and F82 M4.

We highly recommend DS2500 for a dual purpose aggressive street and light track pad. When using DS2500 as a dual use compound its possible to swap to a more aggressive compound without re-bedding.

ATTENTION: Some compounds must be ordered which can add 2-5 days to your order. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us!

Additional Information

  • DS2500 - DS2500 is amongst the foremost high performance track day pads in the business. It is also suitable for some light duty front and many rear pure race applications. It offers excellent refinement for such a high performance pad. The main characteristics of DS2500 are:

    • Track day & light race use for all vehicle types

    • Road style refinement but with race material ability to withstand heat with respect to life and µ

    • Average friction coefficient of 0.42 over working temperature range of 20°-500°C

Essex Recommendation - While its best to always run a dedicated pad for the track, DS2500 is one of the best hybrid street/track pads on the market. It features the moderately high bite and solid fade resistance of a track pad, with the relatively low dust and noise levels of a street pad. When used as a street pad, it can produce some squeal on certain platforms. During aggressive driving the DS2500 is known for its flat torque curve, which means as temperatures go up, the response through the brake pedal remains consistent. If you drive aggressively on the street, do some canyon runs, autocross, and maybe some light track duty on street tires, the DS2500 is tough to beat.

ATTENTION: When used on high HP, heavier cars (2,800 lbs+) on the track with race tires, pad wear rates tend to be higher than on Ferodo Racing's other pad compounds. Under those conditions, its recommended to run DS1.11

  • DS1-11 - Several brake pads on the market boast 'ceramic' technology. DS1.11 is the real thing. It is based upon a chemical family known as Siloxanes. Unlike carbon based materials, siloxane chains do not decompose at high temperatures and so DS1.11 keeps on working up to the highest temperatures a brake pad could ever see. That means it won't fade and has excellent life, the best in the Ferodo Racing range. Moreover the performance remains exactly the same throughout the pad's (long) life. It is formulated to provide a very flat friction profile at a medium/high level of friction. The pad compression is very low, always, and so pedal travel is short and consistent. The main characteristics of DS1.11 are:

    • Heavy duty endurance material

    • Applications - touring car, GT, single seat

    • Average friction coefficient 0.46 over working temperature range of 200°-700°C

    • Long life

    • Very kind to discs

Essex Recommendation - DS1.11 is one of Ferodo Racing's latest endurance race pad offerings. It has slightly less bite at high temps. vs their older DS3000, but doesn't decompose nearly as quickly under extended heavy use on the track. The DS1.11 is known for its extremely flat torque curve, which means that as temperatures go up, the response through the brake pedal remains consistent. The DS1.11 can be thrashed all day without having it burn up or fade, it's easy on discs, and doesn't have many of the judder or vibration issues that competing products have. If you want an extremely solid, all around race pad that will perform well and last a long time, the DS1.11 is the perfect choice.

WARNING : DS1.11 Is not suitable for road use

  • DSUNO - DSUNO is the latest heavy duty racing material from Ferodo Racing. It has replaced DS2.11 and is already race proven in GT, touring car, Formula & rally. The technical objective for the material was to provide a high friction output, whilst improving pad and disc life and to offer excellent modulability throughout the brake event. The latter means the risk of wheel lock is significantly reduced compared to other pads with the same high nominal friction coefficient, without any loss of output. This is the ultimate feel-good pad.

    • Heavy duty semi-endurance material

    • Applications - touring car, GT, single seat, rally

    • Average friction coefficient 0.48 over working temperature range of 200°-700°C

    • Very controllable torque output

    • Very kind to discs

    • Long life

Essex Recommendation - “Ferodo Racing has made great strides in pad development over the past few years, and DSUNO is their latest offering. For our customers who enjoy the performance of the DS1.11, but just want a little more bite, we recommend the DSUNO. It doesn't wear quite as long as the DS1.11, but it does offer a higher overall mu once it reaches track temperatures.”

WARNING : DSUNO Is not suitable for road use

  • DS3-12 - DS3.12 is a high-output, heavy duty circuit compound. It has been developed in testing in top-level GT racing and is suitable for larger and heavier non-formula cars on the track. It is superior to other Ferodo compounds both in friction coefficient and maintenance of its performance at very high temperatures. It has a predictable and constant friction output throughout its operating range, regardless of brake pressure. Its torque profile in the early stages of the brake event means it manages the introduction of ABS in a smooth manner. The main characteristics of DS3.12 are:

    • Highest friction coefficient and bite in the Ferodo Racing range

    • Reproducible and stable performance up to 850°C under all pressure and speed conditions

    • Excellent management of ABS during the brake event

    • Longest pad life of Ferodo Racing range under heavy duty track use

    • Recommended for track use on larger vehicles with ABS

    • Recommended for sprint and medium duration races

Essex Recommendation - Released in a limited number of shapes for 2019, the DS3.12 is the latest evolution in Ferodo's incredible DS line. Every new sports car today has more of everything: More horsepower, more aero, a higher curb weight, and stickier tires. These attributes all place greater demands on the vehicle’s brake system. The Ferodo DS3.12 is the modern pad compound designed from the start to explicitly to handle those demands. Out of all the pad compounds we’ve ever tested, from all manufacturers, the DS3.12 shows the flattest torque curve across the broadest temperature range. That means that on every turn, on every track you drive, on every lap, your brake pedal is going to feel almost exactly the same, providing tremendous consistency and repeatability. The DS3.12 has a higher mu than Ferodo's other compounds, so not as much leg pressure is required to initiate the desired response. It is also unfadable, showing no drop in performance at any temp your brakes will ever see. In dyno testing, the DS3.12 has shown superior wear rates to the other Ferodo compounds, while remaining kind to the discs. We believe the DS3.12 will become the gold standard to which other race compounds will be compared.
