So you’ve heard your S14 idles lumpily and surges from a stop because they’re just old race engines . . . Disrespectfully, that internet myth is wrong. Most likely (at least) one of the problems you’re experiencing is lack of tuning of the independent throttle bodies.

The throttle bodies feature a number of seals that wear down and need to be replaced, as well as several key clearances that need to be periodically checked and maintained. To that end, we partnered with Technik to offer their excellent dial indicator mount. This mount accepts a 3/8” stem-mounted dial indicator, which makes it much easier to mechanically adjust the throttle butterfly setting.

  • CNC Machined in Canada from 6061 aluminum

  • Though not a requirement, it’s beneficial to have two of these units to adjust both sets of throttles at once

  • Requires 3/8” stem dial indicator with 1” reach. We suggest the Mituyo 2416S-10, available at www.McMaster.com under part number 2246A54. A more cost effective dial indicator available at www.McMaster.com is part number 20715A69
