The S38B38 has an elegant system for idle air control distribution that consists of a short feed line from the plenum to the idle air control valve, mated to a rail with a short rubber coupler. This in turn distributes the idle air feed through 6X non-return valves that mate to the independent throttles with o-rings. Like any rubber component that’s been subject to years of heat and abuse these components have a finite life span and it’s a good idea to replace them to obtain no vacuum leaks and a steady idle.
Our S38B38 maintenance kit includes a new OEM BMW mount for the idle air control valve, new OEM BMW lines, and new Norma stainless steel hose clamps. Non-return valve o-rings are offered optionally (we highly recommend replacing the o-rings).
