Angry Ass | S38B36 Vacuum Supply | Variable Resonance + Secondary Air Injection
A reliable and airtight vacuum supply is critically necessary for S38s, to ensure proper operation of the variable resonance intake, the secondary air injection pump, and the fuel pressure regulator. A majority of the S38 cars we’ve seen need the vacuum system addressed, and unfortunately, a growing number of the vacuum supply components are no longer available from BMW.
As always, Angry Ass has you covered there. We’ve assembled a complete kit to take the guess work out of maintaining this vital system, while also providing some durability upgrades. All components highlighted in red in the diagram in the gallery and at the bottom of the page are replaced, in addition to the throttle body vacuum caps.
ATTENTION: If you have deleted your secondary air injection system with our complete Secondary Air Injection delete kit or another method, you don’t need the full kit - fewer points of failure are always a good thing! Please denote if your Secondary Air is “Removed” in the dropdown.

With Secondary Air Injection installed, the S38B36 kit includes:
1X OEM BMW B36 vacuum reservoir
1X OEM BMW vacuum reservoir mount (these are almost always broken)
1X OEM BMW check valve
4X OEM BMW hose clips
~2m OEM BMW braided vacuum line for additional durability over the stock vacuum line
~1m Hard vacuum line, sourced from a US manufacturer, specs that exceed OEM standards (runs to the secondary air injection valve)
~2m Abrasion protection, sourced from a US manufacturer, specs that exceed OEM standards (because why not be better)
7X OEM BMW vacuum caps
1X 316 stainless steel “L” fitting (provides a 90 degree for the variable resonance actuator)
1X 316 stainless steel “T” fitting (provides a feed to the secondary air injection and variable resonance solenoids)
With Secondary Air Injection removed, the S38B36 kit includes:
